Georgian Heritage Crafts Association is launching the vacancy announcement for the position of the local facilitators in the framework of the project “Community-Based Inventorying of Urban Living Heritage in Relation to Income-Generation in Tbilisi.” The main Duties and Responsibilities of local facilitators are the following: Arrange meetings with the local community members (online and offline). Raise awareness and promote the community-based inventory methodology among community members in Old Tbilisi. Identify Intangible Cultural Heritage elements related to the income-generating activities of Old Tbilisi. Collect the data for the inventory entries of Intangible Cultural ICH in Old Tbilisi. Identify major threats and challenges related to ICH practices and transmission in urban contexts. Schedule: The position considers a full-time job in February-March, 2021 (the project may be extended till the end of April). The priority will be given to applicants who have gone through the ICH-related capacity building activities (pieces of training and workshops). About the Project: The project “Community-based inventorying of intangible cultural heritage, related to traditional income-generating activities in Old Tbilisi” is implemented by Georgian Heritage Crafts Association in the framework of UNESCO “Intangible Heritage and Creativity for Sustainable Cities” Program. This project, which is generously supported by Yong Xin Hua Yun. Project Goals: Pilot test the community-based inventorying methodology developed by UNESCO in urban context. Build capacities of local community members in CBI. Identify key issues related to ICH in urban contexts Elaborate recommendations for practitioners and policymakers on safeguarding ICH elements related to income-generating activities. Raise awareness among the wider public on the potential contribution ICH can make in urban contexts for ensuring more sustainable development of the cities. The project includes various activities such as meetings with local communities, trainings by the International experts, and active participation of local facilitators in the inventorying of ICH related to traditional income-generating activities in Tbilisi. Moreover, the project will bring together audiovisual and narrative documentation as well as promotional videos that will contribute greatly to the identification and promotion of ICH elements in the urban context.
