Embroidery master Gulisa Tsiklauri lives in Tbilisi, but originally she is from Mtiuleti, which led to his interest, special love, and attitude towards embroidery. Georgia has been rich in textile techniques for centuries. This type of craft making was an indispensable part of women's work; hence they were skilled in knitting, sewing, embroidery, and other textile techniques from their very childhood. Her works were so special and represent Khevsureti's peculiars. Hence, I describe my deep connection with traditional Khevsureti's ornamental composition. The Pshav-Khevsureti typical cross pattern embroidery prevails. Still, now we can find that old clothes and accessories in khevsurians families, they keep them carefully because for them all it is a treasure. With the help of inspiration from old ornaments, I make different types of accessories such as hats, bracelets, headpieces, cellphone holders as well and etc. Men’s hats, kerchiefs, handbags, purses, are decorated with Khevsur ornaments. I try to revive tradition through the transfer an old khevsur ornaments into modern lifestyle items. From my side, I try to safeguard this knowledge for future generations.
