Strengthening International E-Commerce Opportunities among Craft Makers

With the financial support of the USAID Economic Security Program the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association implemented the project “Strengthening International E-Commerce Opportunities among Craft Makers,” The main objective of the activity was to boost the sales of local craft makers during the Covid-19 period by supporting the adaptation to the international E-commerce platforms. About 80 online shops of Georgian craftsmen were opened on the American global platform - Etsy.

Within the framework of the USAID Economic Security Program and cooperation with Etsy, Georgian craftsmen were given the opportunity to effectively present their products on the international market and had access to 40 million buyers. All this ensured the growth of sales/incomes and the development of Georgian handmade products. In addition, by various international professionals, the craftsmen were trained in shop management, product transportation, and other important topics.
